MACHINE WORKSHOP #1
Machine Workshop #1 class will teach you the basic fundamentals of threading, bobbin winding, and machine maintenance. This is a great opportunity to learn how to use your machine effectively and efficiently. In this class, you will also learn how to use the utility feet for overcast, blind hem, buttonhole, and zipper. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced sewer, this class will provide a great foundation for using your machine. Please arrive early enough to have your machine set up and ready to sew before class starts. The classroom will be unlocked and open 15 minutes before class starts.
• Your sewing machine
• Foot pedal and cord
• 40 or 50 weight quality thread (e.g. no “old” thread from 10 years ago)
• Empty bobbin (we will be filling it as part of the class; make sure you have enough thread on your spool)
• All feet and accessories for your machine (EXCEPT embroidery unit – don’t bring that)
• Manual for your machine
• An extra needle for your machine in case yours breaks
• Seam Ripper
• Scissors (snips) for cutting thread
• Pencil for taking notes (we supply the lesson plan
